If you want to install proxies yourself and manage them on a single server from an SSH menu, IPv6 Proxy Script is enough. If you need to manage several servers from a browser or automate proxy sales through WiseCP or an API, IPv6 Proxy Script V2 - Hosted is the better fit. In both products the proxies run on your own server; what differs is where you manage them from and how ready each one is for sales automation.
The word “hosted” in V2 Hosted refers to the panel. We install, maintain and update the panel, while proxy traffic still leaves from the server you add to it. The Script has no panel at all: you upload the file to the server and pick actions from a menu in the terminal. We covered the Script’s authentication options in how to choose an authentication mode in IPv6 Proxy Script and its address change modes in rotating vs refresh mode in IPv6 Proxy Script.
What is the difference between IPv6 Proxy Script and V2 Hosted?
The table puts side by side what the two product pages and their setup guides say:
| Topic | IPv6 Proxy Script | IPv6 Proxy Script V2 - Hosted |
|---|---|---|
| Management | Menu opened on the server over SSH | Web panel in the browser (WeProxy IPv6 Panel) |
| Installation | You upload the file to the server and run it | You add the server to the panel with its SSH details; the script is installed from the panel |
| Server | Ubuntu 20.04 with IPv6; /64, /48 and /32 subnets | Your IPv6-capable servers; how many depends on your package quota |
| Protocol | HTTP or SOCKS5 | HTTP and SOCKS |
| Address changes | Refresh (every N minutes) and rotating (every request) | Static, per-request rotation, timed rotation (10 seconds minimum) |
| Automation | Parameterized startup (listed with --h) | REST API, WiseCP plugin downloaded from the panel, WHMCS integration support |
| Maintenance | Update detection is on you; restart proxies from the menu after a reboot | Panel updates and security patches are applied centrally |
| List price | $20 / month | $40 / month |
These are the list prices shown on the product pages; check the page for the current amount before you buy.
Who is IPv6 Proxy Script for?
The Script is built for people who use proxies in their own work and are comfortable in a Linux terminal. You upload the file to an Ubuntu 20.04 server, make it executable, start it, enter your license and choose proxy setup from the menu. Once you type a starting port, proxies open from that port upward and each port exits through a different IPv6 address.
The Script’s finer controls are features the Hosted product page does not list:
- Five authentication modes: random, fixed, public, IP-protected and IP-protected without a password.
- Whitelist and blacklist rules to allow only certain sites through the proxy or block specific ones.
- TunnelBroker setup, so you can create proxies even when the server has no native IPv6.
- IPv6 Emulator to change the auto-detected IPv6 address.
- Time-limited proxies and stopping a chosen port range.
- An encrypted ZIP of the proxy list with a download link.
The trade-off is that maintenance stays with you. After a server reboot you restart the proxies from the menu. With more than one server you connect to each of them separately, and nothing shows them all on one screen. The Script can also be started with parameters, but hooking that up to a sales system means writing your own integration. The product description itself recommends the Hosted version for professional use.
Start with the Script if you are setting up proxies on one server for your own scraping or testing, or if your server has no IPv6 and you need TunnelBroker. The steps are in the IPv6 Proxy Script installation guide.
Who is IPv6 Proxy Script V2 - Hosted for?
Hosted was put together for resellers and hosting companies that sell IPv6 proxies as a product. After purchase you receive the panel URL, username, password and IPv6 license code by email. You do not set up a VPS, PHP, a database or SSL for the panel; you sign in, save the license code and go straight to adding servers.
To add a server you enter its IP address, SSH port, username, password, location (such as DE or TR) and the length of the IPv6 subnet assigned to it. After a connection test, Install Script runs the installation from the panel. When creating proxies you can pick a location instead of a single server, and set the count, username, password, protocol and rotation type in the same form.
The screens you will use most in day-to-day work:
- Proxy details: stop, reactivate, reinstall, refresh IPv6, extend and copy the list.
- Bulk delete and extend, plus manual entry that registers proxies already installed on a server without reinstalling them.
- IPv6 Lookup, which shows which order an IPv6 address belongs to and its allocation history. When an abuse complaint arrives, this is where you find out which customer had the address.
- Telegram notifications for actions and expiry, JSON archive backups with remote FTP/SFTP, and system logs.
Limits come from your package: the number of servers you can add and the proxy quota depend on it. When the quota is full, delete inactive server records or raise the limit.
Which one should you choose if you sell proxies?
If you plan to deliver proxies to customers automatically, choose Hosted. You copy the key from Settings → API Key in the panel and paste it into the WeProxy product module settings in WiseCP. The plugin is downloaded from the panel’s Ready-made plugins page and extracted into the WiseCP product modules folder. When an order comes in, creating proxies, refreshing IPv6 and updating rotation are handled through the API endpoints.
API requests carry the key in an api_key field in the request body or in an X-Api-Key header. There is a limit of 60 requests per minute, and going over it returns 429. The guide lists the other error codes too: 401 for a wrong or inactive key, 403 for a license problem, 422 for a validation error. If you regenerate the key in the panel, update the WiseCP field as well; requests that still use the old key return 401.
Selling with the Script is possible, but you write the layer that takes the order, connects to the server, runs the script with parameters and hands the list to the customer. With a handful of customers you can manage it by hand. As the customer count grows, keeping track of which port belongs to whom, what has expired and which address drew a complaint gets harder. Hosted keeps those records for you.
Whichever product you pick, as the server owner you are responsible for the traffic that leaves your proxies. Limit how customers may use them in your terms of service and answer complaints quickly using records such as IPv6 Lookup.
How do rotation and authentication differ between the two?
The Script has two address modes. Refresh changes the IPv6 address of installed proxies every N minutes you set. Rotating uses a new IPv6 address for every request. Hosted has three types: in static mode each port keeps a fixed exit address, per-request rotation picks an address dynamically from the prefix, and timed rotation refreshes all ports at the interval in seconds that you choose. The shortest timed rotation interval is 10 seconds.
If you need to keep a session on the same address for a long time, Hosted’s static mode covers that directly. In the Script, the closest you get is a long refresh interval.
Authentication is where the gap is wider. The Script offers five modes, and the IP-protected ones let you restrict access by the connecting address. In Hosted you enter a username and password when you create proxies; IP-protected access is not listed separately on the product page. If giving customers proxies with an IP whitelist is a requirement, ask the support team about it before you buy.
Which one fits which situation?
| Situation | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You set up proxies on one server for your own work | IPv6 Proxy Script | No extra panel needed, lower list price |
| Your server has no native IPv6 | IPv6 Proxy Script | TunnelBroker setup is in the menu |
| You need site whitelist/blacklist or IP-protected access | IPv6 Proxy Script | These options are in the Script’s feature list |
| You want to manage several servers and locations from one screen | V2 Hosted | Servers are grouped by location in the panel |
| You will sell proxies automatically in a WiseCP or WHMCS store | V2 Hosted | Ready WiseCP plugin and REST API |
| You must keep a record of which IPv6 went to which customer | V2 Hosted | IPv6 Lookup shows the allocation history |
| You would rather not work in a terminal | V2 Hosted | Setup and management happen in the browser |
If you match rows in both columns, settle the main question first: will you use the proxies yourself, or sell them? For your own use, the Script’s finer controls are enough; for sales, Hosted’s record keeping and API save time.
How does setup work in each product?
For IPv6 Proxy Script:
- Upload the script file to your Ubuntu 20.04 server over SFTP.
- In the file’s directory, make it executable and start it:
chmod 777 v6we1scriptproxy.we1 && ./v6we1scriptproxy.we1 - Once the script has installed its components, enter your license from the Customer Panel.
- Choose proxy setup with the red menu numbers, then set the starting port, authentication mode and address mode.
For IPv6 Proxy Script V2 - Hosted:
- Open the panel URL from your email and sign in with your username and password. The username is not your email address.
- Go to Settings → SSH Command Templates, replace CHANGE_ME with your IPv6 license code and save it. Server and proxy menus stay locked until you do.
- Under Servers → + Add Server, enter your server details, test the connection and click Install Script.
- With + Create Proxy, choose a server or location, count, credentials, protocol and rotation type. Keep the page open until the job finishes.
The panel walkthrough with screenshots and the panel’s real error messages are in the WeProxy IPv6 Panel guide. For the feature lists and license details, see the IPv6 Proxy Script and IPv6 Proxy Script V2 - Hosted pages.
Frequently asked questions
Do V2 Hosted proxies run on your servers?
No. Only the management panel is hosted. The proxies run on your own IPv6-capable server that you add to the panel with its SSH details, and traffic leaves from that server.
Which one can I use if my server has no IPv6?
IPv6 Proxy Script has TunnelBroker setup in its menu, so you can create proxies without native IPv6 on the server. The Hosted panel asks for the IPv6 subnet length when you add a server and expects an IPv6-capable server.
Which subnets does the Script work with?
Only /64, /48 and /32. Which one suits you depends on how many distinct addresses you need and what block your provider gives you.
What is the shortest timed rotation in the Hosted panel?
The shortest interval is 10 seconds. If you want the address to change less often, raise the interval or use static mode.
What changes when moving from the Script to Hosted?
Management moves from the terminal to the panel. You add your server to the panel with its SSH details, create proxies from the panel and give users the new list. Check with the support team beforehand what happens to proxies installed with the old script.
